This OBBBA Bill Cannot Pass

The One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA), also known as the "Social Murder Bill that Ends Democracy," is not a budget.

It’s a blueprint for mass suffering—pushed through under the guise of a budget. The GOP is exploiting an obscure, fast-track process to gut core democratic protections before the public even knows what hit them.

They're using “budget reconciliation,” a tool meant for adjusting taxes and spending, to force through sweeping structural changes that would permanently reshape the government. By embedding the agenda of Project 2025 into a budget bill, they’re bypassing the filibuster and attempting to lock in authoritarian control with just 51 Senate votes—no debate, no oversight, no consent.

So, what’s buried in this bill?
 Let's take a look:
It destroys the social contract:

• Cuts SNAP - millions more kids at risk of hunger. This is a dangerous precedent w/ implications in child labor, juvenile justice, statutory rape.
• Cuts Medicaid by increasing paper work hurdles and chaning the work exemption by redefining children over age 6  as non-dependents (previously was 18)
• Cuts student aid, & removed protections for students from predatory schools 
• Blocks Planned Parenthood
• The Deficit the bill creates triggers an automatic cut to Medicare by $500 billions  
• All in all, it removes care for the poor, disabled, elderly, & young.

It dismantles democratic checks and rule of law:

• Blocks courts from enforcing injunctions, i.e. strips the courts of power to enforce their own rulings. The court can no longer hold them in contempt, one of the only tools they have to enforce accountability.

It locks in a techno-authoritarian future without care for human and environmental life:

• Declares AI & surveillance national infrastructure, bans state-level regulation for 10 years, making children much more vulnerable to nefarious AI actors. 
• Defunds the CFPB, which protects consumers from financial fraud, repeals clean energy programs, sells off public lands, and lifts taxes on gun silencers.
• Hands the Executive branch power to revoke nonprofit status for dissenting groups.

And it adds over $2 trillion a year to the deficit!

This is State-Sanctioned Violence. Economic eugenics.  And the Heritage Foundation authors of it know exactly what they’re doing and they’re doing it fast, before we can stop them.

I am writing to urge you to firmly oppose the so-called One Big Beautiful Budget Act (OBBBA).

This bill is not a budget. It is a blueprint for authoritarianism and state sanctioned economic genocide.

Under the guise of fiscal responsibility, the OBBBA would:

• - Slash Medicaid, SNAP, and Medicare - harming children, seniors, and the working class
• - Gut public education, environmental protection, infrastructure,  climate programs, civil rights enforcement, and legal aid. These services are the backbone of successful industrialized nations.
• - Redirect power and funding to the Executive Branch, stripping Congress of meaningful oversight
• - Strip federal judges of the ability to enforce their own rulings, undermining the judiciary and destroying the separation of powers
• - Ban states from regulating artificial intelligence for a decade, opening the floodgates to corporate surveillance and unchecked digital control and leaving children vulnerable to dangerous predators.

What’s worse, this bill is being rushed through the reconciliation process - a maneuver meant for budget adjustments, not sweeping power grabs. Using reconciliation to pass a bill that rewrites the balance of power in our democracy is a gross abuse of process and a deeply illegitimate use of legislative tools.

This bill would lock in inequality, consolidate power, and remove the guardrails of democracy — all while pretending to balance the budget. In reality, it’s a Trojan horse for economic cruelty and authoritarian rule. And to top it off, it doesn’t even reduce the deficit — it adds more than $2 trillion in new debt, proving its real agenda has nothing to do with fiscal responsibility.

We need a budget that reflects moral clarity and constitutional balance, not a power grab dressed up as reform.

Please vote NO on the OBBBA and speak out publicly against this dangerous legislation.

The people are watching closely. And I need the Senator to know: those who enable this kind of cruelty will be held accountable. History will remember who stood for humanity—and who didn’t.
